CSDI Incubator November Cohort 2026

From promising ideas to strategic capability.

The CSDI Incubator is an initiative of the Center for Strategic Defense Initiatives (CSDI) designed to identify, mentor and support promising startups and innovation organisations working on technologies of strategic relevance to India and the wider Global South. We believe the next generation of strategic capability will not come only from large institutions. It will increasingly emerge from entrepreneurs, researchers and technology innovators solving difficult problems across AI, cognitive science, SI deep technologies and other emerging fields.

The CSDI Incubator provides a bridge between innovation and application — helping promising technologies access the expertise, networks, validation and institutional pathways required to move beyond the idea stage.

WHAT WE OFFER

Strategic Mentoring: Access to experienced practitioners and domain experts who can help founders sharpen their technology, proposition, strategic positioning and pathway to deployment.

Advisory & Validation: Structured guidance on technology relevance, use cases, market and institutional requirements, strategic applications and real-world validation.

Network Access: Facilitated access, where appropriate, to CSDI’s wider ecosystem of entrepreneurs, experts, institutions, enterprises, policymakers, researchers and potential partners.

Pilot & Project Pathways: Support in identifying potential real-world applications and institutional or enterprise environments where suitable technologies may be tested and validated.

Funding & Capital Pathways: Guidance and introductions, where appropriate, toward potential funding, project-financing and investment opportunities. Participation in the Incubator does not guarantee funding.

Strategic Exposure: Opportunities for selected startups to engage with the broader CSDI ecosystem and relevant conversations around India’s technological resilience, strategic autonomy and dual-use innovation.

OUR INNOVATION PHILOSOPHY

CSDI views innovation through the lens of Cognitive Sovereignty and Strategic Autonomy. This does not mean technological isolation. It means building the capability to choose, develop, understand, audit, adapt and deploy critical technologies without creating unnecessary strategic dependency.

We are particularly interested in innovations that can contribute to:

  • Technological resilience
  • Strategic autonomy
  • National and societal security
  • Critical infrastructure resilience
  • Responsible and trustworthy AI
  • Human agency and cognitive security
  • Indigenous capability
  • Global South technological capacity

The objective is simple: To Find promising ideas. Strengthen them. Connect them to the right ecosystem. Help them move toward real-world deployment.
